pleasing friends

how do you please your friends who work at Qualcomm and Nokia simultaneously - You buy a 6256i phone that works on CDMA!!!

The cooler part is that verizon did not want this phone on the market. It is not available in the verizon stores and beats the best of their current phones (the motorola e815). Guess why???? Simple reason it has more functionality than what verizon wants its customers to have. More Bluetooth features that dont require you to pay for sending your own photo to yourself. standard memory interface + SIM facility!!!!

It is a little boxy and does not have that night light facility (that nokia doesnot listen to). More when I explore it more.

Ok I have friends in Motorola as well, but they will just have to wait. This one was free. Anyone upgrading their phone on vzw, you can also get a bluetooth handset free. Sone pe suhaaga!!.

6256i looks cool, I like Nokia, I like almost anything Scandinavian (yes, including IKEA,and their assemble-yourself-furniture), its good that nokia is making CDMA phones. I am waiting for first WCDMA phone. Is there anybody doing WCMDA? I think Reliance India is doing CDMA 2000, How about true blue WCDMA?

I ordered this phone,[http://reviews.cnet.com/Sierra_Wireless_Voq_Professional_Phone/4505-6452_7-30571489.html] hopefully no one will ask me this phone from me(atleast for some time). This will be my 6th phone this year. I still think smart phones are atleast 2 years far.

Ok, this entire post and t2's comment read like this to me:

Blah, Blah, 6256i Nokia, WCDMA, Blah Blah...

You guys are totally playing into the stereotype of Indian techies, btw :-)

dont mind, but this is built in in genes of guys -- guys and gadgets N tools--- you cannot seperate them.

it reminds me of :

JERRY: Most men like working on things, tools, objects, fixing things. This is what men enjoy doing. Have you ever noticed a guy's out in his driveway working on something with tools, how all the other men in the neighborhood are magnetically drawn to this activity. They just come wandering out of the house like zombies.

Men, it's true, men hear a drill, it's like a dog whistle. Just.. you know, they go running up to that living room curtain, "Honey, I think Jim's working on something over there." So they run over to the guy. Now they don't actually help the guy. No, they just want to hang around the area where work is being done. That's what men want to do. We want to watch the guy, we want to talk to him, we want to ask him dumb questions. You know, "What are you using, the Philips head?" You know,
we feel involved. That's why when they have construction sites, they have to have those wood panel fences around it, that's just to keep the men out. They cut those little holes for us so we can see what the hell is going on. But if they don't cut those holes - we are climbing those fences. Right over there. "What are you using the steel girders down there? Yeah, that'll hold."

All indies are not techies. I could write the next article about rims on my cars or being a lexus fan, about ES350, RX400 etc etc.
It is recommended to keep a passion for something in life. Not necessarily one you can have many. Something that you look forward to over the weekend or free-time. And then obviously people like to talk about something new that they have tried out & not necessarily show-off.

It has an Intel Processor!!! Goody good. But bluetooth is missing. Do you want to be like all those folks who keep the phones to their ears? ;)

Jee R, sorry BK.

You know actually I learnt something and am thankful to you both for that. What I commented on would have passed off as something well-said in a group of you guessed it right (techies). I should try to be more subtle. I am getting there but till that time bear with me.
